Derby Day Start to Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Weekend
As Queen Elizabeth II starts her Jubilee weekend celebrations with a visit to Epsom Racecourse, I have my own fond memories of snapping a few photos of Her Majesty on Derby Day.
A great historian of horse racing, The Queen will no doubt enjoy the History of Derby Day book that she received after presenting the trophy for the Diamond Jubilee Coronation Cup.

The Queen always enjoyed walking down to the paddock and looking at the horses before the race.
The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee – celebrations and events:
The Queen came to the throne on 6th February, 1952 and her coronation took place on 2nd June 1953. Marking 60 years of The Queen’s reign, the Diamond Jubilee celebrations will centre around an extended weekend on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th of June.
